Sorry, folks, but this was one role-playing game I could've done without. To begin with, the graphics were terrible--nowhere near as clean and crisp as they're shown above--and reminded me of an 8-bit console RPG that suddenly went 16-bit at the last second. I wasn't all that impressed by the audio, either, and getting my character ready for adventure took an entire minutes-long tutorial where the same task only takes me a matter of seconds for an entire party of adventurers in the other RPGs I've tried out. Sure, titles in this genre are supposed to be deep, involved, and challenging, but when simply equiping a decent weapon and suit of armor becomes an epic quest, then there's little point in the rest of the game. In short, Depths of Peril is horribly overrated and no match to the 2005 WildTangent release FATE, which has been a favorite on their website for two years and is still well-enjoyed even today. Therefore, role-players should check that game out instead and leave this one alone.
